Hi everyone,
Podcasting is a great way of interacting with your students from a distance. Instructors can record themselves with free audio editing/recording programs such as Audacity and then upload them to Angel. They could be brief 5 minute mini‐lectures that you can update weekly/monthly. We’ll show you how to upload these audio files in to your course, create a specific folder to upload them to, and show you how you could post them in your discussion forums. Most important of all – the podcasts can be downloaded and listened to on a variety of devices.
We are doing something different with our workshops this year, so please view the video below to see the new layout.
We’ll also be using a new program to deliver the workshops called JoinMe. If you’ve never used JoinMe before, please see the access/installation instructions in the WS 407 Angel course. PLEASE NOTE: You will actually be accessing the workshop via the workshop link in Angel.
The workshop will be held on Thursday, April 24th from 2-3PM EST If you would like to attend the workshop, please enroll yourself in the workshop, by going in to Angel, search for the course “WS 407” and using the PIN# WS2014. Click here for instructions on how to enroll in the workshop. There will also be an assignment at the end of the workshop that will give you full credit for participating. The live workshop will also be recorded and posted later for viewing in the workshop course and the Online Instructor Community.
I also would encourage you to sign up with our blog so that you are kept up to date with our workshop announcements! To sign up, please go to http://feedburner.google.com/fb/a/mailverify?uri=GpsCourseDesign and enter your SJC email address. Whenever a new post is created by the course design team, you will be notified via email. If you have any questions at all, please contact me at jsparks@sjcme.edu.
See you then!
